The US Aviation Industry
Out
of the many things that I could talk about the US transportation industry and
its history I decided to pick a recent event that the whole world is dealing
with and it is not transportation related but does affect the transportation
industry. Sars=Cov-2 or known as Covid-19 took the world by storm. Causing
major shutdowns of city, states, and country. Travel was restricted and
quarantine was put in place in high effected area. With the stay-at-home order
issues by most government, this put a stop to a lot of traveling and
infrastructure. Many countries relied on transportation to keep them running.
To quell the spread but keep the country running, essential workers were
permitted to keep going to work and operated but with strict restriction.
Limited exposer and adjustment of shift were created.
Passenger travel was reduced significantly for air travel “By May of 2020, airport traffic dropped by 90 percent.” (MehaffyWeber, 2020). This causes a lot of airline to seek aid from the government through the CARES act. Looking forward the transportation industry would have put plans in place in case something in the future would cause another crisis that would shut down the transportation industry. What if another virus outbreak and this type of scenario might happen in the video
